  • OSMS too much for Norwood, 26-6

    In what can be best described as total domination, the Oliver Springs Middle School Bobcats rolled to a 26-6 win over Norwood Thursday night.
    "Coach Tony Dutton had a great defensive plan and we managed to hold Norwood to just two first downs the whole game." Bobcat head coach Larry Green said. "Our offensive line, Dylan Todd, Bobby Crass, Taylor Murray, Blake Taylor and Casey Wilson, all played well and our backs ran hard tonight."

  • Waves rip Oakdale, 42-0

    The Midway Middle School Green Waves picked up their first win of the season in a big way pounding Oakdale 42-0 last Thursday at Midway.
    “We started a little slow but we managed to get on track and pull away,” Midway coach Lewis Edwards after the win over the Eagles.
    Midway did start slow and could not score in the first quarter against Oakdale. The Waves turned the ball over on downs on their first possession and fumbled the ball away on their second possession.

    A sports first will occur in Roane County on Saturday as the 2010 AT&T Bluegrass Disc Golf Tour will be making a stop at the newly opened course at Roane County Park.

  • RMS downs Harriman, 38-8

    The Rockwood Middle School Tigers picked up their fourth easy victory of the season Thursday night as Scott Harvey’s squad rolled past rival Harriman, 38-8.
    “We knew coming in that Harriman had a young football team, but you never want to take a rivalry game lightly,” Harvey said following the game. “We wanted to come out and play hard.”
    Rockwood needed less than 15 seconds of game time to take the lead Thursday as Corbin Van Patten returned the opening kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown.
    Kyron Inman added the two-point conversion to give the Tigers an early 8-0 lead.
