    Senior Spencer Boles has gone through a lot of ups and downs during his high school career at Kingston, but nothing quite like the range of emotions felt on Monday and Tuesday during the Jackets set of District 4-AA games with Alcoa.

  • Lady Jackets force tie in 4-AA...

    The Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets pulled into a first place tie in District 4-AA Tuesday evening with a 7-4 victory over Christian Academy of Knoxville.

    Tuesday’s meeting was the second of the season between the two teams as the Lady Warriors downed Kingston in the first week of the season, 8-7.

    The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will host the 2013 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop June 7-9 in Crossville at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center. 

  • ‘Dogs nip ‘Cats, 5-3

    In a night of close district baseball games, the Oliver Springs Bobcats had the Wartburg Central Bulldogs on the ropes until the 'Dogs regained their bite and took the 5-3 win. 

    Wartburg got on the board first with a 1-0 top of the first and doubled the lead in the top of the second to 2-0.

    The Rockwood Tigers had just eight hits Friday evening against Oakdale, but Jake Witter’s squad took advantage of 12 walks and four hit batters in rolling to an 18-4 victory over the Eagles at the Mike “Brillo” Miller Sports Complex.

    Like a Ryan Seacrest Top 40 countdown, the hits just kept on coming for the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats as they thumped the Wartburg Central Lady Bulldogs 15-0 Monday afternoon in a District 4-A contest. 

    Courtney Jones started off the game for the Lady 'Cats in splendid fashion fanning three straight batters.

    With their District 3-A showdown against Grace Christian Academy only 24 hours away, the Midway Lady Waves could have been caught looking ahead instead of on Monday’s task at hand against Rockwood. That wasn’t the case, however, as Megan Arndts’ squad needed only five innings to dispose of the Lady Tigers, 15-3.

    It was a great night for baseball Thursday evening as Harriman picked up a 7-6 non-district win over the Indians from Oneida. 

  • Lady Waves bomb McMinn Central...

    The Midway Lady Green Waves have quietly put together an eight-game winning streak after a 13-1 non-district victory over McMinn Central Thursday at Midway.
    The win raises Midway’s record to 18-7-1 overall, but they are only 5-0 in the district.
    The Lady Waves will have to play five district games in the next two weeks. They will visit Rockwood, Greenback and Grace Christian. Two home games to be played are Tellico Plains and Grace Christian.
    Midway is scheduled to visit Grace Tuesday and host Tellico Plains Thursday.
