    With their season on the line, the Cherokee Yellow Jackets stayed alive in the Area 4 AAA Tournament Thursday evening with a 42-32 victory over Sweetwater.

    Tuesday's first round of the boys' TMSAA Area 4 AA division tournament provided upsetting results for the two higher seeded teams, Oliver Springs and host Harriman.

    Kingston made quick work of the Lady Bulldogs as they jumped out to a 28-5 lead after eight minutes of play.

    The Midway Middle School Lady Waves picked up an improbable come-from-behind 40-38 overtime win that came courtesy of an Abby Bertram steal and a Jessie Lewis basket in the paint with two seconds left, capsizing the post-season hopes of the Harriman Middle School Lady Blue Devils in the opening round of the Area 4 AA Tournament at Harriman.
