  • Sunbright starts up cross...

    The idea originated at Peak Performance Rehabilitation, Inc. this summer. Sean Galloway was working with Sunbright cheerleader & basketball player Hannah Sexton, and he found out she had great ability as a runner. Galloway then put the plan together to start a cross country team at Sunbright High School.

    The plan worked and Sunbright became the first school in Morgan County to field a cross country team.

  • Harriman MS tops Wartburg

    The Harriman Middle School Blue Devils ran their season record to 4-3 overall with an exciting 20-14 victory at Wartburg.

    Thursday’s contest with the Bulldogs was a seesaw affair as Harriman scored the first touchdown of the game and then the last two to pick up the six-point victory.

    Most of the scoring came in the first half as the two teams battled their way to a 14-14 tie at intermission.

  • Cherokee tops Midway

    Fresh off winning their second straight AA district title, the Cherokee Middle Yellow Jackets picked up their second win in three days Thursday as they eased past Midway Middle 16-0 at Midway.

    Last Tuesday, Cherokee cruised past Harriman to sweep the district for the second year in a row. Thursday’s win against Midway would be their second consecutive win.

    KNOXVILLE-Wartburg had a good defensive game plan to confuse and slow down Christian Academy of Knoxville's offense. It worked for nearly a half. However, the Warriors used a decisive edge in depth to erupt 27 second-half points and pull away for a 43-6 win over a determined Bulldog team.

  • Oneida earns 56-19 win at Oakdale

    OAKDALE-Sam Woodard had a night to remember on Hollis Eble Field Friday night. It was a night Oakdale would like to forget.

    Woodard scored four touchdowns, all on returns, including three in the first quarter, to lead #5-ranked Oneida to a 56-19 victory over the Eagles in a Region 2-A game.

    Kingston’s Sam Schrock and Rockwood’s Karissa King are headed to the TSSAA Class A/AA State Golf Tournament in Murfreesboro.

    Schrock and King earned their place among the state’s best golfers Monday with strong finishes in the Region 2 A/AA Tournament held at Oak Ridge Golf and Country Club.

    Anderson County was the big winners on Monday as both the Mavericks and Lady Mavericks took home team titles.
