  • RMS pulls off Area 4 three-peat

    Thursday night was another big night for the Rockwood Middle School boys basketball team as the Tigers won their third straight Area 4 AA Championship and 42nd game overall with an exciting 47-44 victory over Lenoir City on the Panthers home court.

  • MMS girls reach title game

    Tuesday's Area 4 AA semifinal  contest between the Midway Lady Green Waves and Harriman Lady Blue Devils at Lenoir City was expected to be a close game, and that's just what it was as the Lady Waves used a big fourth quarter in picking up a 34-28 victory over the Lady Devils.

  • Tigers bit by Bulldogs

    Rockwood's Tom W. Evans Gymnasium is considered a tough place to play for opposing teams, but the Wartburg Bulldogs didn't think so Tuesday night as the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs picked up a road sweep.

  • Devils, Eagles split non dstrict...

    There wasn't a lot of drama in Harriman Tuesday night as the host Blue Devils and visiting Oakdale Eagles split a pair of game at Richard Pickell Gymnasium.

    Oakdale got their victory in the girls game as Fred Snow's squad started strong and cruised to a 59-33 victory.

  • Midway splits with Coalfield, TSD

    Darrell Ruffner’s Midway Green Wave lost a close non district game at home Monday against Coalfield, 50-49, but the Green Wave bounced back in fine fashion Tuesday with a 76-47 victory at Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) in a District 3-A contest.

  • CMS teams advance to finals

    The Cherokee Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets picked up a pair of huge wins Tuesday evening as both squads knocked off North Middle in the semifinal round of the Area 4 AAA Tournament being played at Cherokee.

  • Griffis' 31 not enough for...

    Kingston junior Brandon Griffis had a bittersweet night on Tuesday during the Jackets District 4-AA contest at Christian Academy of Knoxville.

    Individually, Griffis had the best night of his career as the Jacket wing buried five three-pointers and scored a career-high 31 points.

  • Hagler signs with Bryan College

    The Rockwood baseball pipeline to Bryan College has struck again as Tiger senior 3B Kyler Hagler signed scholarship papers with he Lions on Tuesday.

    For three periods, the Rockwood Lady Tigers gave the Kingston Lady Jackets all they wanted and then some, but in the end, it was the Lady Jackets pulling away late for the 57-44 win. 

  • Tigers advance to Area 4 AA...

    The Rockwood Tigers advanced to the Area 4 AA Tournament championship game Monday night with a hard-fought 38-32 victory over Midway in the tournament semifinals at Lenoir City Middle School.
