    It wasn't the Cloudland Lady Highlanders' fault that the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats didn't play well in Wednesday's Region 2-A championship loss to Wartburg, but the Lady Highlanders paid the ultimate price for that defeat Saturday evening as a determined group of Lady 'Cats invaded Cloudland's Sonny Smith Gymnasium and handed the Lady 'Landers a 51-35 setback in the sectional round of the TSSAA Class A playoffs.

    The Harriman Blue Devils played well in the first, second and fourth quarters Tuesday night in their Region 2-A semifinal contest with Grace Christian Academy, but the third period was a different story as the Rams won the third stanza by a 24-12 margin and that was the key to the Rams picking up a 72-54 victory.

    When the Harriman Lady Blue Devils knocked off Rockwood Saturday in the District 3-A Tour-nament semifinals, Jim Cordell’s squad was clicking on all cylinders in picking up a 66-43 victory.

    Tuesday night, however, the Lady Devils never found that type of a rhythm as they were knocked off by Greenback, 42-36, in the championship game of the tournament.
