  • Falcons pull away from Bobcats,...

    For four innings, the Oliver Springs Bobcats held their own against the Fulton Falcons, but an eight-run fifth inning proved to be the undoing of the Bobcats in a 16-6 defeat on Thursday night.

    Fulton brought home two runs on a fielding error before leaving men on first and second to close the top of the first inning.

  • Grubb's big night leads...

    Dannon Grubb had an evening to remember Thursday as the Rockwood senior went 4-of-6 at the plate with two doubles, a triple, a home run, six RBIs, two runs scored and four stolen bases in a 19-4 Tiger victory at Coalfield.

     

  • Midway enjoys long trip with 15-...

    The Midway baseball team must like long bus rides as Thursday afternoon the Green Wave made the long road trip to Cosby. Midway’s offense responded by pounding out 20 hits in a 15-9 victory over the Eagles.

    Eight of Midway nine starters had multiple hits on the day with Zach Edwards (3-5, 2 2Bs, 2 RBIs, 1 run), Christian Moore (3-5, 3B, 2 RBIs, 1 run) and Shandon Lyle (3-5, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) leading the charge with three hits each.

  • Lady Jackets drop district game

    The Kingston Lady Jackets opened District 4-A play Thursday at home against Knoxville Catholic, but the friendly confines of Southwest Point didn’t help the Lady Jackets as the Lady Irish went back to Knoxville with a 10-6 victory.

    Thursday’s game opened with both offenses on fire.

  • Harriman takes down Meigs in...

     It wasn’t pretty, but the Harriman Blue Devils picked up a huge 6-5 victory over Meigs County in a District 3-A contest at Papermaker Field.

  • Roane State sweeps Tusculum

    The Roane State Raiders hosted Tusculum College Wednesday afternoon and the Raiders would sweep the Pioneers in a doubleheader.

    Both games were close as the Raiders won game one, 6-4, and they followed that up with a 7-5 victory in the final game of the day.

    The Raiders used a pair of long balls to pick up a two-run victory over the Pioneers in the first game on Wednesday.

  • Rough start for Kingston in...

     

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets opened District 4-AA play earlier this week with a pair of games against Knoxville Catholic, but the first two district games didn’t go so well for the Jackets as the Fighting Irish won both by solid margins.

  • Alcoa rallies past Midway, 6-5

     

    A fantastic start ended with disappointment for the Midway Lady Green Waves Monday as they dropped a 6-5 decision to Alcoa. 

    Midway was playing only its second home game of the season after taking the entire spring break off. 

  • Green Wave, Blue Devils fall in...

    Monday proved to be a rough day for the Harriman Blue Devils and Midway Green Wave on the baseball diamond as both would drop games on the road.

    Scoring runs was the biggest problem for both teams as Midway dropped a 6-1 decision at Loudon while Harriman fell at Meigs County, 4-1. Harriman’s game was a District 3-A contest.

  • Lady 'Cats roll to another...

    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats are making it look easy as Monday evening Matt Headden’s squad ran its season and District 4-A record to 4-0 with a 10-0 victory over at Oneida.

    Monday’s win was actually Oliver Springs’ closest game of the season. In its four games, the Lady ’Cats have won by a combined score of 45-0 and none of those five games have lasted more than five innings.
