  • Rockwood teams suffer road losses

     

    The Rockwood Tigers and Lady Tigers traveled to different locations earlier this week for a pair of District 3-A games.

    The Lady Tigers traveled to Tellico Plains on Monday and suffered a 9-4 setback at the hands of the Lady Bears. On Tuesday, Rockwood’s baseball team made the trip to Decatur and was knocked off by Meigs County, 6-3.

  • ’Cats fall on Senior Night

     

    Senior Night was not a memorable evening for the Oliver Springs Bobcats on Monday as Clarkrange crashed the party and took a 4-2 five-inning victory with them back to Fentress County.

    The Buffaloes turned a walk and double into a run in the first inning and then used three hits in the top of the third to take a 3-0 lead.

  • Midway completes sweep of Devils

     

    Midway and Harriman wrapped up the regular season Tuesday with the Green Wave easing to a 3-2 win over the Blue Devils.

    A six-run sixth inning broke open what was a close game Monday as the Midway Green Wave picked up a 9-2 victory at Harriman.

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets ended its regular season Monday evening with a 10-3 road victory at Knoxville Christian School.

  • Lady ’Cats win district...

     

    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats captured the District 4-A regular season championship Tuesday evening with an impressive 19-2 victory over Coalfield.

    The Lady ’Cats claimed a share of the title 24 hours with a 5-1 victory over the Lady Jackets.

  • Lady Waves top Harriman, 14-0

     

    After suffering shutout losses on back-to-back days, the Midway Lady Green Waves (8-3 in District 3-A) took their frustrations out on Harriman (7-4 in district) Friday when they pounded the Lady Blue Devils in four innings, 14-0. 

  • Grant’s grand slam leads Tigers...

     A Hunter Grant grand slam highlighted a 10-run third inning Saturday afternoon and that big inning was the difference as Rockwood defended its home turf with a 12-1 victory over Oakdale.

  • Blue Devils down Knights in...

     

    Pitching and defense took the day off Saturday as Harriman downed Knoxville Christian School, 14-11, in a game played at Loudon High School.

    Saturday’s contest was a seesaw affair from the beginning as the Knights scored in four of their six trips to the plate while Harriman scored in five of the six innings played.

  • Midway takes two from Oliver...

     A Friday trip to Oliver Springs’ Arrowhead Park turned out great for the Midway Green Wave as Darrell Ruffner’s squad swept a doubleheader from the Bobcats.

    The Green Waves opened the evening with a 15-3 victory in game one and they finished off the evening with a 9-0 win.
