By Goose Lindsay

The Area 4 AA Tournament tipped off Monday evening at Wartburg Central Middle School, and the night did not go well for Roane County teams as three of the four squads in action were eliminated. The start of the tourney was delayed due to snow and ice on Saturday.

The one team to advance to Wednesday’s semifinals was Midway, who defeated county rival Oliver Springs, 34-28, in boys play.

In girls action, Midway dropped a 34-27 decision at the hands of Lenoir City, while Wartburg ended Rockwood’s season, 46-5.
