Disc golf tourney coming to Roane County Park

-A A +A

A sports first will occur in Roane County on Saturday as the 2010 AT&T Bluegrass Disc Golf Tour will be making a stop at the newly opened course at Roane County Park.

Disc golf uses the same formula as regular golf, with Frisbees used instead of golf balls. A player traditionally uses three types of Frisbees, a drive, mid range and a putter.

The tournament will consist of two 18-hole rounds on Saturday. The first round is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., and the second round is set to begin at 1:30 p.m.

Prizes and awards will be given out after the second round.

The Roane County tournament is the 15th stop in 17 scheduled events for the 2010 AT&T Bluegrass Disc Golf Tour this year.
