James Gunter is the new executive director at Jamestowne Assisted Living in Kingston.

He replaces Fay Jago, who has been promoted to clinical operations specialist for parent company Senior Solutions Management Group, with whom she will provide operations leadership and support for 19 communities in Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.

“The person in this position really has to be the right fit,” explained Jago. “James is from Roane County, knows a lot of people and has a great heart for this work. I feel 100-percent confident turning the reins to him. He’s the perfect fit.”

Gunter, who was born and raised in Roane County, has been involved in senior care and health care for the last 10 years. He is excited to join the community and looks forward to continuing to build on the compassionate care and level of excellence Jago created.

“I really cherish the relationships I’m building with the community, people and seniors here,” Gunter said. “This is a great opportunity to be a part of the residents journeys and in some ways, a calling.”

Christina Trentham, vice president of operations for Senior Solutions Management Group, expressed strong support for both staffing changes.

“Fay has worked for Senior Solutions for almost 20 years and has known James personally for quite some time,” she said. “That’s one of the benefits of living in a tight-knit community like ours. Asking James to lead Jamestowne was a very easy decision because he was already so well known to our residents. I couldn’t be happier or more confident in both of these outstanding individuals.”

Jamestowne Assisted Living Community is designed for seniors who need some level of assistance in order to experience an enriched and fulfilled life. The aim at Jamestowne includes preserving the dignity, protecting the privacy and personalizing the care for each individual.
