The Kingston Lady Jackets soccer team got one step closer Tuesday night to their goal of a district championship with a 4-0 win over the Loudon Lady Redskins.

“I'm worried about injuries right now,” said Kingston head coach Greg Bowman. “We've got a player with a bum shoulder and we suffered an ankle injury tonight.”

Allison Rich started off the scoring frenzy for the Lady Jackets three minutes into the game when she scored an unassisted goal to make the score 1-0.

The score was 2-0 following a Christina Neal header on a corner kick by Amanda Riggs at the 17-minute mark. Two minutes later, Neal had another "heads up" corner kick on another Riggs assist to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

The lone goal of the second half came at the 77-minute mark when April Parkison scored on an Alex Hartley assist to make the eventual final score 4-0.

Neal (2 goals), Allison Rich (1 goal), and Parkison (1 goal) were the leading scorers for the Lady Jackets with Riggs (2 assists) and Alex Hartley (1 assist) chipping in for the victory.

Michaela Grubb (10 saves) led the Lady Jackets in goal.

With the victory, Kingston advanced to Thursday’s district title game against CAK.

“We need to work on our ball control for CAK Thursday night,” said Coach Bowman.
