In what has to be one of the biggest wins in the history of the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats soccer program, the Lady ‘Cats stunned Oneida 3-2 Tuesday night when the Lady 'Cats received a clutch goal from Kellie Ball.

"They started putting it together last night against King's Academy and it carried over into tonight." said an elated Oliver Springs head coach Tom Hughes. "We finally have started putting together the idea of passing and controlling the ball and this is a huge win and confidence-booster going into our game with CAK.”

Oliver Springs scored their first goal on a Katie Harvey penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.

Oneida's Jessy Morrow tied the game at 1-1 later in the first half on a rebound off of a goal post, but Harvey scored again before the half came to a close on a Sarah Davis assist to take a 2-1 halftime lead.

Morrow scored a goal for the Lady Indians to tie the game at 2-2 early in the second half, but with 10 minutes left in the game, Ball came through for the Lady 'Cats with the biggest goal of her career to date to give the Lady 'Cats the 3-2 win.

Oneida had 28 shots on goal while Oliver Springs had 18 shots on goal.

The Lady 'Cats were led in scoring by Harvey (2 goals) and Ball (1 goal) while Kayla Crisp (19 saves) led the Lady 'Cats in goal.

"We have to work on our midfielding. We're getting better, but we need to keep improving on our outside areas." said Coach Hughes. "We also had a lot of players step up tonight and we tried some different things in the lineup tonight that seemed to work well."
