Lane of I-40 to be closed Saturday

-A A +A

Motorists should be alert on March 1 for a right lane closure on Interstate 40 East approaching the bridge across Hwy. 27 at mile-marker 347.

The closure will be between the hours of 10 p.m. March 1 and 8 a.m. March 2 as crews perform milling and paving operations.

All vehicles traveling I-40 East in excess of 12 feet in width will not be allowed through this area due to the restricted lane width across the bridge at mile-marker 347.

Those vehicles will be rerouted off exit I-40 East prior to Exit 340 (Airport Road) and will be guided to follow an alternate route.

During this time the I-40 eastbound exit ramp at mile-marker 347 (Harriman) will be closed to traffic.

Motorists wishing to access Hwy. 27 from I-40 East should follow the signed detour to Exit 350 and access I-40 West back to Exit 347.

Motorists should be alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic approaching this area and use extreme caution.
