The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge offers special activities for children and families each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and on the third Sunday of each month.

The activities, all free with admission, are:

• Toddlers’ Playtime in the Preschool Room, from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Parents, grandparents and caregivers with children 4 and younger are welcome to Toddlers’ Playtime. Toddlers may build with blocks, run trains on tracks, play in a sensory table, dig for dinosaurs, look at books, play with puppets and “cook” in the “kitchen.”

• Musical Mornings in the Music Room from 10 a.m.-noon Thursdays Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31. Toddlers with parents and caregivers may use instruments to create sounds, make rhythms to dance to, and make music and sing as they play in an age-appropriate play space for young musicians.

• Crafty Wednesdays in the Discovery Lab, from 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Children of all ages can have fun making unique crafts while putting their own artistic spin to it.

• Third Sunday Garden, Tours in the Kids Go Green! Environmental Center and Gardens from 1:15-3 p.m. Aug. 20. See the vegetables, herbs and fruits in season in the garden and visit the Living Light Solar House.
