Attorneys for ash spill workers request mediation

By Damon Lawrence

Mediation could be used to resolve the litigation involving the ash spill cleanup workers.

“Plaintiffs believe this case is suitable for mediation at this stage,” one of their attorneys, Gary Davis, said in a motion filed on Nov. 26.

This month will mark 10 years since the disaster that led to the years long cleanup.

A dike failure at TVA’s Kingston Fossil Plant on Dec. 22, 2008, resulted in the release of approximately 5.4 million cubic yards of fly ash.
