Rockwood police reported confiscating 15 grams of crystal methamphetamine during a Feb. 13 traffic stop. The female driver, identified as Jennifer L. Watson, is facing charges in the case.

According to the report, Rockwood Police Officer Blake Norman spotted a Mercury Mariner traveling north on Highway 27 with an expired temporary tag. Norman stopped the vehicle at Walmart.

“Ms. Watson was very nervous and jittery and had broken speech,” the report said. “While conducting my traffic stop, I asked her consent to search her vehicle which she refused.”

The report said the vehicle was searched after a police dog alerted officers that it contained drugs.

“After Deputy (Annaliis Elsea) searched the female, she assisted me in the search of the vehicle, which uncovered a pink zipper Bible case that contained approximately 75-100 plastic baggies, 15 grams of a crystal like substance (methamphetamine), and two sets of digital scales,” the report said.

Watson, 38, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture, sell and delivery of methamphetamine. She was still in custody at the Roane County Jail on Friday on bonds totaling $100,000.
