Roane County Habitat for Humanity recently dedicated its 35th house built in Roane County.

Owner Tammy Edwards and her son Josh are now living in a new home that they and dozens of volunteers helped build.

Their new home in Harriman is a modern, efficient and sturdy design built to provide many years of service.

“I can’t tell you how excited we are to be in our new home,” said Edwards. “We never thought we’d be able to own an affordable home again, but Roane County Habitat for Humanity made it all possible for us.

“We are so grateful for all the volunteers who donated their time and the organizations that donated their services to help us realize our dream.”

Roane County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian non-profit organization providing affordable houses for families in need.

President Jim Smith said that the organization is looking for new board members, sponsoring organizations, and help with fundraising.
