Ruby Julian turns 100 years old today

Ruby Julian celebrates her 100th birthday today, Feb. 21.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1918, to Reuben and Lovenia Hall in Harriman.

She has lived in Roane County all of her life.

The former Ruby Hall married Homer Julian Sr. in 1938.

They were blessed with two sons, Homer Jr. of Rockwood, and James Thomas of Knoxville.

She also has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Julian is the oldest member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.

She is also an avid fan of University of Tennessee sports and Atlanta Braves baseball.

She was born during the Woodrow Wilson administration and has seen 18 presidents serve.
