The Roane County Commission voted to take over portions of West Williams Circle and Lake Overlook Road last year, but no improvements have been made to the roads to date.
Roads still rough

More than nine months have gone by since the Roane County Commission voted to accept portions of the roads in Pioneer Village Subdivision. Nothing has changed about their rough state, however.

“We’ve had to do a lot of legal stuff,” County Commissioner and Road Committee Chairman Junior Hendrickson said.

Pioneer Village is located south of Rockwood. For years, residents complained about the bad condition of the roads. County officials said they were unable to help the situation because the roads were private.
