  • Bobbie Jean Alcorn

    Bobbie Jean Alcorn, 80, of Powell, formerly of Oliver Springs, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2012, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    She was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Jacksboro. She moved to Oliver Springs during her early childhood. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Before her retirement, she was employed as a machine operator in the textile business.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Alcorn; her parents, W.G. and Ada Collins; and two brothers, Gobel Collins Jr. and James Collins.

  • Nan L. Carnes

    Nan L. Carnes, 98, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and a daughter, Ann.

    Survivors include her son, Roger.

    Funeral service was at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, Oak Ridge, with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Burial was at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Jackson Funeral Services, Oliver Springs, is in charge of arrangements.

  • Patsy Hamby Lay

    Patsy Hamby Lay, 76, of Harriman, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, after a lengthy battle with myasthenia gravis.

    She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Harriman United Methodist Church. She cherished her family, friends and  church friends.

  • Brian Eugene Aslinger

    Brian Eugene Aslinger, 45, of Oak Ridge, formerly of the Batley community near Oliver Springs, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at his home.

    Survivors include his wife, Ondina Beverly Aslinger, Oak Ridge; his parents, Kenneth and Hope Aslinger, Batley; two children, Marc Alan Aslinger and Brittany Nicole Aslinger, both of Oliver Springs; and two stepdaughters, Amber Nicole Borzotra, Knoxville, and Jessica Lauren Gozgalez, New York.

  • Edd ‘E.J.’ Brown Jr.

    Edd “E.J.” Brown Jr., 85, of Kingston died Friday, March 2, 2012, at the home of his daughter.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Retha Whaley Brown; and his parents, Edd and Melanie Brown.

    Survivors include a daughter, Joanna Brown Ledford, Maryville.

    William G. Coffey Jr., 80, of Harriman, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Burnum Coffey; his father, William G. Coffey Sr.; and his mother, Helen Frogge Coffey.

    Survivors include a stepdaughter, Brenda Morris.

    The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral service will follow. Burial will be at Piney Grove Cemetery, Midtown.

    Anna Virginia Tate, 84, of Kingston, died Friday, March 2, 2012, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Nelson, Harriman, and Benetta Romines, Dallas, Ga.; and a son, Steve Jackson, Kingston.

    Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. Eddie Chasteen officiating. Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Calvary Cemetery.

    Robin Patrick Wakefield, 46, of Coalfield, died Friday, March 2, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

    Survivors include his wife, Robin Denise Wakefield, Coalfield; two daughters, Courtney and Caitlyn Wakefield, both of Coalfield; and his parents, Larry R. and Linda Wakefield, Oak Ridge.

    Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Monday, March 5, in Sharp Funeral Home chapel, Oliver Springs, with Bro. Lonnie Lowe and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Union Valley Cemetery.

    Leona McGill Weaver, 81, of Coalfield, died Monday, March 5, 2012, in Renaissance Terrace Care and Rehabilitation Center,  Harriman.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Wade McGill and Anna Mae Qualls McGill; and her husband, Clayton Weaver.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. Funeral service will follow in the chapel, with Pastor Stewart Sloan officiating. Burial  will at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
