The Tennessee Highway Patrol is planning to conduct safety belt and sobriety checkpoints on Roane County roads in May.
The first safety belt checkpoint will be from 7 to 8 p.m. May 16 on the Interstate 40 westbound 340 mile-marker offramp.
Another safety belt checkpoint, also from 7 to 8 p.m., will be on May 21 on the I-40 westbound 350 mile-marker offramp.
Two sobriety roadside safety checkpoints are also planned for the month.
The first, on the week of May 18, will be at Hwy. 328 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
