  • OS outpaces Eagles for win

    The Oliver Springs Bobcats played host to the Oakdale Eagles in game two of their two-game series Tuesday night.

    The Bobcats were able to pick up the second win in as many nights with a final of 10-1.

    “A couple guys got going for us tonight and that really helped,” said Oliver Springs head coach Tony Kegley

    “Sweeps are always great, it’s very hard to beat a team twice in two nights. We are playing really good defense right now.”

  • Blue Devils sweep ’Dawgs

    For the second night in a row, the Blue Devil offense put big numbers up on the scoreboard to defeat the Wartburg Bulldogs by a final score of 14-3.

    Noah Dickerson got things going for the Devils, getting on base due to an error.

    Dickson didn’t stay on base long as he got out at second on a fielder’s choice.

    Brady Stubbs became the new recipient of firstbase and advanced to second as Brandon Turpin drew a walk.

  • Lady Tigers can’t get bats going...

    The Sunbright Lady Tigers shocked the district Thursday night by pulling off a 19-2 run-rule victory at Rockwood.

    “We didn’t show up at all,” Rockwood head coach Guy Thompson said. “We didn’t make any plays; we just didn’t do anything tonight.”

    Rockwood’s Kyle Van Patten and Nate Brackett pitched a pair of perfect games in Thursday’s doubleheader against Sunbright.

    Neither game lasted longer than three innings as the Rockwood Tigers remained patient at the plate and took advantage of Sunbright errors to win the first contest 20-0 and the second 17-0.

  • Green Wave hammers Eagles

    The Midway Green Wave swept the Oakdale Eagles in a double-header Friday evening, 7-0 and 11-1, at Midway.

    The name of the game for the Green Wave was defense and pitching.

    Gabe Moore pitched a complete game no hitter in the first game, while Andrew Burton pitched four innings of one-hit baseball in the second game with 5 strikeouts.

    Brandon Burnum came in the final inning to end things for Midway in the second contest.

  • Rockwood falls to Sunbright

    Sunbright used a combination of great pitching, defense and timely hitting to defeat Rockwood in a seven inning clash of the Tigers by a final score of 4-1.

    Rockwood threatened in the first with the bases loaded and only one out but Sunbright’s “south paw” pitcher Sydney Treadway got out of the inning unscathed as the next two hitters popped up in short left and grounded out to 2nd for the third out, leaving three Lady Tigers in green on base.
