    A fabulous season came to a great end for Kingston junior Savannah Szozda on Wednesday as she finished ninth overall at the 2014 TSSAA Class A/AA State Tournament at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester.

    Szozda shot a two-day total of 166, which was 19 shots behind tournament champion Siarra Stout of Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA).

  • TWRA hosting BOW/ATV workshop

     

    The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will host its first Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) All-terrain Vehicle (ATV) Workshop Oct. 3-5 at Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area.

    For the first 30 minutes of Monday evening’s game, the Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats held their own against the Anderson County Lady Mavericks, but the Lady Mavs were just too much for the Lady ’Cats to handle in a 7-1 loss.

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets scored seven goals in the first 18 minutes of play and that was all that was needed as Elik Pickell’s squad picked up a 7-0 victory at Harriman. 

    Sophomore Kaylee Wilson got off to the fastest start as she scored three goals in the first six minutes alone.

  • Slow start costs Blue Devils in...

     

    In what could be described as a very physical game, the Grace Christian Academy Rams pinned a 40-19 defeat on the Harriman Blue Devils Friday night at Wallace Black Field.

    The Rams actually jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead before Harriman settled down and played the state’s No. 3 ranked 2A team toe-to-toe the rest of the evening.

  • Bobcats fall to Jackets in...

     

    Friday night was a good night for Coalfield Head Coach Keith Henry. His Yellow Jackets defeated Oliver Springs, 66-34, for what would be the 100th win in Henry’s career as head coach with 50 of those coming at Coalfield.

  • Meigs County surprises Rockwood...

     

    Rockwood was its own worst enemy Friday night, and the result was a 42-14 defeat at home against Meigs County in a key District 3-A contest.

  • Second half rally keys Midway...

     

    It wasn’t easy, but the Midway Green Wave opened its District 3-A schedule with a victory Friday night after rallying past visiting Tellico Plains, 38-28.

    With the win Midway improved to 4-0 and 1-0 in the district. This also would be the first time in his four years at Midway that head coach Joe Campbell has had a 4-0 start.
