    The Roane State Raiderettes made their longest conference road trip of the season over the weekend, but the nearly 800-mile round trip was worth it as Monica Boles' squad picked up a pair of wins in the western part of the state.

  • Midway splits with Coalfield


    The Midway Green Wave hosted Coalfield Monday night and both teams would pick up a victory.

    The Lady Waves picked up their second win in as many games with a 57-49 win over the Lady Jackets, but Midway’s boys would not be as lucky, falling 58-49 to Coalfield in the nightcap.

  • Green Wave rally falls short


    A defensive struggle for three quarters turned into an absolute barn burner at Tennessee Tech Friday night, as a late Midway Green Wave rally came within inches of tying the game and sending it to overtime against Monterey in the second round of the TSSAA Class 1A playoffs.

  • Tigers fall at Oneida, 21-7


    Rockwood head coach John Webb knew that if his football team was to win Friday's TSSAA Class 2A playoffs game at Oneida, it would happen only if his squad played a really good football game.

    That didn't happen as turnovers, penalties and poor field position were the deciding factors in a 21-7 loss to the Indians.

    The two games between Cherokee and Philadelphia in middle school basketball action contained scores reminiscent of a teeter-totter.  

  • Midway, Rockwood split games


    There wasn't a lot of drama at Rockwood Middle School Thursday evening as the Tigers and visiting Midway split a pair of games.

    The first game was close for a while, but Midway pulled away late for a 34-13 victory. In the boys game, Rockwood started fast and cruised to a 44-28 victory.

  • Harriman slams Concord


    The Harriman Lady Blue Devils bedeviled the Concord Christian School Lady Lions by a very decisive 81-19 margin Thursday evening. 

    The game was over quick as Harriman opened the game with a 33-4 run before the Lady Lions scored a 3-pointer to end the first period, making the score 33-7.

    The Harriman Blue Devils and Lady Devils had a successful start to the 2014-15 season Tuesday night as they traveled to Seymour and picked up a sweep over The Kings's Academy.

    The Lady Devils took the floor first and used great defense to pick up a 42-21 over the Lady Lions.
