      Rain would was out day three of the Region II Challenge Tournament played at Karns and Farragut, but not before the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets got in four games in the first two days of play.

  • Tigers knock off Bobcats, 11-5

    In what could a Region 2-A tournament preview, the Rockwood Tigers hosted the Oliver Springs Bobcats Friday night and would use seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to knock off the Bobcats, 11-5.

    Friday’s contest was even for three innings as both teams scored three runs in the second inning.

  • Lady ‘Cats in hunt for 4-A title

    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats traveled to Oneida Friday evening and picked up a huge 3-2 victory over the Lady Indians.

  • Jackets sting Blue Devils in...

    The Kingston Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets swept their tennis match against Harriman on Tuesday at Roane State.

    The girls and boys both won by a final score of 7-2.


  • Lady Waves take down Lady Bears...

    The Midway Lady Waves stayed on course for a rematch with Grace Christian after they held on for a 2-0 win over Tellico Plains on Thursday.

    Midway improved to 8-1 in District 3-A with the only loss coming against Grace last Tuesday. The rematch against Grace for a tie for the regular season championship will be played Wednesday at Midway.

  • Tigers stay hot, bomb Sweetwater...

    The Rockwood Tigers have been a team of streaks in 2013.

    The Tigers started the season red hot, winning six straight, but then Jake Witter’s squad went ice cold, losing five in a row. Now, Rockwood is on fire again as Thursday night, the Tigers downed Sweetwater, 12-5, for their ninth win in the last 11 games, improving to 15-7 on the season.

  • Lady Devils take out broom...

    The Harriman Lady Blue Devils hosted District 4-A leading Oneida in a pair of five-inning games Thursday at Flour Mill Flats, and it would be Travis Langley’s squad picking up a pair of one-run victories over the Lady Indians.

  • Midway holds off Harriman, 6-5

    The Midway Green Wave and Harriman Blue Devils met on the baseball diamond for the fourth time Thursday afternoon, and for the third time the Green Wave would come out victorious as Isaiah Ruffner’s squad knocked off the Blue Devils, 6-5, in a five-inning game at Harriman’s Paper Maker Field.

    The Oliver Springs Lady Bobcats ran their season record to 19-4 Thursday as Matt Headden’s squad rolled to a 19-2 victory over Rockwood.

  • Midway falters at Sweetwater

    The Midway Green Wave stepped out of district Tuesday evening and traveled to Sweetwater, but the trip was not a good one as the Wildcats defended their baseball diamond with a 5-4 victory.
