The Kingston Yellow Jackets soccer season has gotten off to a fast start in 2024 with two wins.
The Jackets got things going quickly last week with a 8-1 home win against the Anderson County Mavericks.
Noah Kirkendall only needed the first 20 seconds to tally the first goal of the season at home.
Kingston entered the game with a 1-0 record after a dramatic comeback at Heritage the previous week.
At home, the Kingston offense was just different.
The offense controlled the tempo and the ball for 15 continuous minutes of the first half, only allowing one shot on goal by the Mavericks.
The Jackets’ lead grew to 4-0 at the half.
The second half proved to be more of the same with multiple players getting into the points scored column.
The second half attack was led by sophomore Jaren Ginn with two contested tap in shots near the goal.
Kingston’s victory was led by goals from Kirkendall (2), Ginn (2), Carson Ross (2), Landon McVey (1), and the final score coming from Evan Lankford with his first of many to come.
It’s worth a mention that all of these players are underclassmen showing the future is bright for Kingston soccer.
