The Midway Lady Waves didn’t need to keep it secret Monday night as they won a big 14-0 shutout against the Secret City, Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats.
The bats got going early for Midway, as it didn’t take long for runs to start appearing on the board.

The Midway Lady Waves didn’t need to keep it secret Monday night as they won a big 14-0 shutout against the Secret City, Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats.
The bats got going early for Midway, as it didn’t take long for runs to start appearing on the board.
In the first inning, a pitch struck Lorelai Langley, driving in a run.
Reese Collier quickly followed with a two-run double and just like that, Midway was up 3-0.
A home run to center by Chloe Jarnigan scored three runs to highlight the second frame.
The momentum kept flowing into the third.
A two-run double by Jamie Cardin increased the Lady Waves’ advantage to 8-0.
The offensive prowess displayed by Midway reached its crescendo in the fifth inning.
Cardin hit into a fielder’s choice, but was able to bring home a runner in the process. Kyker Johnston singled home a run, Collier doubled home a score and Langley really showed some punch at the plate with a three-run base knock.
Once the flurry of scoring and offense was complete, the Lady Waves had scored six runs in the frame and put the game well out of reach with a 14-0 lead.
Langley was the winning pitcher for Midway.
She allowed only two hits and no runs in four innings of work in the pitcher’s circle. Langley also struck out three while walking two.
Kaylee Hickman was the losing pitcher.
The Lady Waves tallied 10 hits in the contest.
Cardin and Collier each finished with two hits apiece.
Jarnigan, Cardin, Collier and Langley, helping herself, also accounted for three RBIs apiece.
Midway will look to stay perfect against Oak Ridge as they travel tonight to take on the Lady Wilcats. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
