The Midway Green Wave took advantage of some timely hitting and aggressive base running Friday evening as they beat the Wartburg Bulldogs, 5-1.
The Green Wave scored two in the bottom of the second. The highlight was Travis Shaw tagging up from third to score on a sacrifice fly.
Rowan McClure got the win for Midway. He gave up only one run and no hits over the course of five and one-third innings of work.
Woods was tagged with the loss. He pitched five innings, allowing five hits and five runs (three earned).
Shaw went two-for-three at the plate to lead the Green Wave.
Brennan Reed, Caiden Brewer, and Rylan Brewer all drove in a run apiece for Midway.
The Green Wave made the most of their hits, but it was aggression on the base paths which really helped to contribute to the final.
Midway stole 12 bases in the game.
