A case of alleged financial abuse of an elderly person was presented to the Roane County grand jury last month. The suspect, Lisa Marie Rayfield, was indicted on one count of financial exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable person. She was booked into the Roane County Jail on the charge on Feb. 28.
The alleged crime occurred between January and November of last year. Rayfield, 58, is accused of using “deception or undue influence to obtain or exert unauthorized control over this elderly or vulnerable adult’s property to wit: more than $60,000 but less than $250,000,” the indictment states.
