A four RBI day by Evans Lemons helped the Midway Green Wave to run away with a 15-1 victory against the Rockwood Tigers Friday night at Brillo Miller Park.
Evans saw the ball well Friday, finishing the evening with a two-run double in the third inning and a two-run home run into left field in the fifth.
Braden Buckner was the winning pitcher. He pitched five innings, striking out 11 and gave up one hit and one run.
Already up five runs going into the fifth inning, Midway added seven more.
A double by Dawson Buckner, a walk to Braden Buckner, a walk to Caiden Brewer, Lemons’ homer and a two-run single from Isaiah Morrison generated the big inning for the Green Wave.
Levi Ellison was the starting pitcher Rockwood. He pitched four and one-third inning, allowing 12 runs on 11 hits. He struck out five and walked five.
In the game, Midway accumulated 14 hits.
Lemons and Braden Buckner each finished with three hits.
Peyton Steele, Rylan Brewer and Morrison had multiple hits for the Green Wave.
Dawson Buckner had three stolen bases.
Ellison had the Tigers’ RBI. Alex Norton garnered one hit.
