Last Thursday saw the Kingston Lady Jackets host the Tellico Plains Lady Bears and emerge with a shutout 6-0 win.
Sophomore pitcher Sailor Presley made sure to limit Tellico’s chances, pitching a seven inning one-hitter.
Presley was able to make sure the Lady Bears stayed off the base paths, further proving the veracity of the old saying about, “not being able to hit what you can’t see.”
The hurler struck out 15 batters for the game.
A run scoring base knock by Rhyan Henslee started the wheels of offense turning for Kingston in the first inning.
Henslee’s RBI wouldn’t be lonely for very long, though.
The second frame saw Mylan Dryman draw a walk to score a run and Presley helped her cause by hitting a single that brought a runner home to extend the early lead.
Presley wasn’t done at the plate.
During the fifth inning, Presley hit a home run shot over the center field fence to score two-run to keep the total growing.
Presley was the winning pitcher, as well as had a good day swinging the bat.
The sophomore finished with four runs batted in on two hits.
Kadence Moses was tagged with the loss for Tellico.
